Background:

Chanté was born on 24 August 1994 in Pretoria. Her primary school days were spent at Rooihuiskraal Primary School, where she found her love for everything that has to do with culture at a young age. She started singing under the guidance of Lizette Jonker. She received various awards and was deputy head-girl for culture. She won the culture trophy many times.

At Zwartkop High she could further live out her passion for culture and she participated in various cultural activities and fulfilled various main roles in stage productions. She was awarded the best-rounded Cultural Student from Grade 8 till Grade 11. In 2011 she was crowned the winner of duets at Tehila, Radio Pulpit’s national Gospel singing competition, along with her singing partner Johan Fourie.

She placed in the Top 10 at the National Eisteddfod Academy (NEA) various times in her singing career and in 2012 she won the prize for Best National Broadway and Dance.
Studio Cha:

Chanté received vocal training from Chantalle Schutte and Carlé Weber since Grade 8 and joined Studio Cha as part of the team as an official Vocal Coach in 2012.

I’ve always known I want to work with youth and children, and there is no better place for that than Studio Cha. We are one big family!

She enjoys every moment and is very excited to grow alongside Studio Cha.

She has a great passion for singing and hopes to one day form part of stage productions or even to produce her own professional album.

In 2015 Chanté opened her own Studio Cha branch in Centurion.
Special Awards, Prizes and Opportunities:

She had the opportunity to participate in the Record Voice final and Miss Record in 2011 for singing as well as modelling.

In 2011 she won the Best Overall Gospel Song at Pretoria Beeld Eisteddfod.

She was chosen by the National Competition SATCH to represent South Africa in Orlando, Florida, for Modelling and Singing.

In 2012 she received the award for Overall Winner for the ages Grade 10 to 25 years at “Pretoria Beeld Eisteddfod”. This was a big award for her.

She loves doing backing vocals on various well know artists albums.

In 2011 she received a platinum award from SATCH and placed 4th in the Top10.

She has also completed her Grade 5 in UNISA music.

Chanté performed as part of the cast in various Barnyard and Rockwood productions. She pre-showed for various artists such as Deon Groot and Bobby van Jaarsveld.

Chanté is releasing her first single in 2020 called ‘Tragedie’.
Other Interests:

Along with her love for singing she also has a great passion for modelling. In 2011 she made the top 10 for Miss Teen World SA. She was crowned Miss Teen Gauteng in 2012. In 2013 she had the opportunity to take part in Miss Junior SA and she placed in the top 6.

Chanté was chosen as a finalist for Apprentesses of Angelique Gerber 2014.

Chanté is currently studying towards a degree in Communication Science.

Chanté has completed a diploma in TV and Radio Presenting through SABC.

In 2018 Chanté completed her internship at Zavion Kotze Events Company.

In 2019 Chanté opened her own business called ‘Lily&Jane’ which specializes in flowers, decor and event coordination.
